Nepal pulled off a dramatic 5-run victory over Qatar in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup EAP Qualifier 2025 Super Six stage, continuing their strong run toward World Cup qualification.

Batting first, Nepal posted 147/9 in 20 overs. Skipper Rohit Paudel led from the front with a brilliant 58 off 42 balls, while Dipendra Singh Airee contributed a steady 26. Late hitting from Gulsan Jha (16 off 8) gave Nepal a competitive total.

In reply, Qatar fought hard but fell short at 142 all out. Nepal’s star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane produced a stunning spell of 5 wickets for 18 runs, breaking the backbone of Qatar’s chase and earning the Player of the Match award.

With this win, Nepal move to four points in the Super Six table, maintaining an unbeaten record and strengthening their chances of qualifying for the T20 World Cup 2026.
